Scaffolder Nursling

Customized learning environments are referred to as scaffolding in which adequate support (instructional, technical, cognitive, and environmental) is offered to allow the learner to advance toward the stated learning goals. Here are several examples:

Role play and simulated practise

Learning obstacles can be segmented or chunked into smaller portions.

Regulating factors such as time, number of distractions, number of sub-tasks, number of individuals, and contextual complications to manage task difficulty

Reducing the use of jargon and nonsensical acronyms (to the learner)

Positive modeling, verbal cues, labels, and technical aids

In contrast to lecture-based experiences, educational scaffolding boosted students' critical evaluation abilities

Questioning that is both divergent and convergent, as well as guided discovery

Practicing with knowledgeable mentors (or even upper-level students)

If a novice is not intellectually prepared to understand the instructions, i.e., the level of potential growth is lower than expected, the scaffolding activity must be altered to satisfy the pupil. In nursing, this could refer to a novice and mentor functioning together to provide care.

According to research, transfer across contexts is particularly challenging when a topic is taught exclusively in one setting (e.g., the classroom or lab) rather than in several situations.

These scaffolds are largely removed or adjusted as students progress toward achieving their goals.

Scaffolding can improve learning transfer, which is detecting and applying knowledge from one setting to another. It is an active and dynamic process that is purposefully learned. Every new skill requires transfer. Past knowledge can either help or impede comprehension of new information. As a result, it is critical that kids learn in various circumstances and that authentic learning is prioritized. While fear of structured information is vital for professional progress, a mediator is required to explain its application to practise.
